‘This is a lawless country’, Sowore says in struggle with security agents.
A viral video of #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore being dragged out of the courtoom by security operatives believed to be DSS officials have surfaced shortly after his arraignment before Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court, Yesterday September 30th in Abuja.
The “altercation” occurred shortly after Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu ordered that he be remanded in DSS custody till Friday October 4, when his bail application and that of his co-defendant would be heard.
In the viral video, On his way out of court, Omoyele Sowore had an interview with journalists during which he condemned his detention, saying “This is a lawless country.”
But the session with reporters was cut short by security operatives who dragged and pushed him out of the court premises.
Sowore, while struggling with the security agents, began to chant a protest song to his supporters while the sad incident lasted.
Sowore was arraigned along with his co-defendant, Mr Olawale Bakare, by the Federal Government on seven charges bordering on conspiracy to commit treasonable felony and money laundering among others.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
